About Reimagine Australia
Our features
Reimagine Australia,
formerly Early Childhood Intervention Australia (ECIA), has been the leading
national organisation supporting best practices in early childhood outcomes for
children with disabilities, developmental delays, and neurodivergence since
1986. Our mission is to enable young children, their families, and the
professionals who support them to achieve the best possible developmental
outcomes through advocacy, best-practice guidelines, and innovative frameworks.
We work collaboratively
with families, practitioners, government bodies, and community organisations to
co-design approaches that ensure a universally inclusive framework for early
childhood developmental supports. By embracing the principles of inclusion,
equity, and family-centred care, we strive to transform service delivery and
system design to make a real impact on children’s lives.
At Reimagine Australia,
we envision a future where every child, regardless of their developmental
journey, has the opportunity to thrive. Our work is guided by a commitment to
create integrated, seamless pathways that ensure consistent, high-quality support
across all environments—home, early childhood settings, schools, and
communities.
As part of our
commitment to systemic reform, we have led the development of pivotal
resources, including the ChildKind Best
Practice Framework, the National
Guidelines for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention (2nd Edition),
and the Reimagine Early Childhood
National Action Plan to 2030. These initiatives underpin our approach to
foundational supports, advocating for a joined-up system that simplifies
access, provides flexibility, and supports children’s development in a
dignified and inclusive manner.
